Christmas in July - Sunday 14th July 24

Date:   Sunday 14th July 24
Time:  1pm - 4pm

This workshop will run for approx 3  hours, just depends on what you make.

In this workshop you will receive enough clay to  make 5 ornaments and 2 trees.   You can mix and match what you make but I will only be firing 7 items per person.  (small items are fiddly, take more time to sand etc.   They also take up more shelf space so it means I fit in less per kiln load compared to mugs so the firing cost is more etc etc)

Clay used will be an off white clay which shows up any colour added really well.    You will be able to paint with underglaze or select up to two colours of the glaze from the test tiles available.   Anything painted with underglaze will be clear glazed.

Price includes all materials and tools needed, sanding and glazing after the bisque fire, 2 x firings in the kiln (bisque and glaze) as well as me glazing it for you.

Your ornaments will be ready for pick up in approx 4 weeks.

This is a small class with a maximum of 6 people.

**Please note**   In order to keep the cost down (was $90 last year) I will only  have wire avaible for the trees, all ornaments will need to be made with a hole for hanging and not using the wire pins like last year.   The number of ornamnets I will fire is a little less and the glaze selection has changed.

Available for ages 15 plus

Please wear clothes you don't mind getting grubby, or bring an apron.   It is advisable to have reasonably short nails when working with clay.  If you do have nails we can work around it but you might find that  you need to clean up the clay a bit more (even small nails will leave marks as we make the items).

Refreshment will be provided but feel free to BYO if you would like a wee dabble during the class.

**Note** if you need to cancel your booking please give me 48 hours notice so I can advertise your spot

Please also be aware that due to the nature of pottery and firing x 2 means that sometimes things don't work out as they should.  Sometimes items crack/break and sadly this is beyond my control.   I take the best care of your items though to try and avoid this but with pottery sometimes it just happens and it happens to the most experienced potters.
