Meraki Studio Workshops are held in my home studio in Ruatangata, Whangarei.  It's a 12 minute drive from Te Kamo through farmland to our little village.   

I have worked with clay for many years and it brings me great joy to share some of the knowledge I have gained in that time.   Workshops aren't just about making something, it's all about the experience too.  Doing something different, some times out of your comfort zone is very good for the soul.   Workshops are loads to fun, we always have a good laugh and it brings me great joy to see participants create something they are proud of.

Workshops are designed for beginners, but are also good for those wanting to gain a few extra tips for their own pottery journey.

All of these workshops are project based and for the most part step by step to a certain point.   If you would like to delve more into handbuilding I recommend my 4 plus 1 week course that is offered from time to time (please message me if keen).   The 4 plus week workshop is more about learning how to create your own projects, different types of clay, different handbuilding methods, the different phases of creating something, finishing, glazing, working saftely at home etc etc.

BUILD A VILLAGE WORKSHOP
	Approx duration = 3 1/2 hours Price $80 per person 7 people max  This is perfect for absolute beginners and those that have never crafted before. Lots of fun.  You will get to make approx 6 - 8 Houses. You will also be able to add some colour to your village as pictured Please note that while these are mini houses they are incredibly time consuming and take way longer to make than expected.   They are super fun though and look amazing once finished.
MAKE A MUG - OPTION 1 WORKSHOP
	Approx duration = 2 1/2 hours Price $65 per person 7 people max This workshop is great for absolute beginners.    It is a step by step class so no one is left behind.   In this workshop you will be making a mug out of a slab of clay.  Everything is precut to the template and ready to go. You will be able to stamp, use texture rollers etc to make an impression in your clay. You will be able to select 1 glaze colour for your mug
MUG MAKING - OPTION 2 WORKSHOP
	Approx duration = 3 1/2 hours Price $85 per person 7 people max In this workshop you will be able to make a mug from a variety of templates available (standard mug, beer tankard, long skinny, short and plump) You can then add different sculptural elements to make the mug your own.      You will also be able to add underglaze transfers or paint your mug to really make it your own. You will also be able to select 2 glaze colours for your mug.  One for the inside and one for the outside. This workshop does work for beginners but I do recommend attending an Option 1 Workshop first to give you an idea on how the basic mug is made.  It's not essential but will give you a little more confidence for this option.
TEA LIGHT HOUSE WORKSHOP
	Approx duration = 3 1/2 hours - 4 hours Price $90 per person 7 people max This workshop is super fun, you will get to make your very town Tea Light House using any of the templates available.  You will be able to add your own decoration and personal touches as well.   I will glaze these either white all over or a coloured roof, brown wash bottom.
Set of 2 Botanical Houses
	Duration:   2 1/2 - 3 hours Price:  $80 7 people max In this workshop you will make a pair of botanical imprinted houses in either the dark red clay or my regular speckled clay. Some botanicals will be provided but you can also bring a selection from your garden.
Wall Fairy/Angel
	Approx Duration:  2 1/2 hours Price $85 7 people max
PLANT MARKERS
	Approximate duration:  2 - 2 1/2 hours Price: $65 Make 6 - 8 plant markers 7 people max
HANGING WALL DECORATION
	Workshop Duration: 3Hours 7 people max Make, leaves, hearts or whatever you please.   You will be given a set amount of clay to play with.   Underglazes will be available for adding a pop of colour. Make up to 5 pieces, depending on the size you make etc $80
Platter and Dip Bowl Set
	Duration: 3 hours Cost:  $95 6 people max Make your own platter using a handmade form or free style to make your own organic shape.   There will also be some spare clay to make a wee bowl and spoon. You will be able to decorate your platter using stamps, doilies, botanicals.   Will even be able to add some colour to the botanicals if desired. Please note that at this stage I will only be running this workshop over the warmer months and one platter workshop a month.
Get Creative Workshop plus glazing
	Duration:  2 x 3 hours - two weeks apart Cost:  $150 6 people max (minimum of 4 needed to make a group booking) This workshop if for those of you that want to make your own creations then come and glaze them as well. You will have access to all of the Meraki Workshop templates, tools etc or come with your own ideas and get creating. Your items will be bisque fired so you can then glaze your own pieces. Please note:  This workshop will only be available over the warmer months when I can get your creations dry and bisque fired in time.  Currently only available for group bookings

What's included in the Workshop 
Clay, all the tools needed to make and decorate it.  Firing your piece twice, sanding, glazing (unless you opt to come and glaze yourself, this is a whole new workshop etc).   It takes a considerable amount of time once the workshop is finished to dry, bisque fire, sand etc, glaze and fire again, sand bottoms and package up which is all included in the price.
