This 4 week workshop is a great way to learn a few different handbuilding skills as well as an introduction to glazing. This is perfect for beginners or those that have dabbled a little and want to refine their skills a little.
Please note: If you have come to a previous 4 week workshop you are welcome to work on your own projects. Please contact me for pricing for this. There is a discount and you get to supply your own clay of choice. Clay will need to be a Stone 6 Stoneware Clay.
The workshop will run over 4 weeks.
Week One - Wednesday 12th Feb 25
We will cover a few basics plus good studio practice then make a mug so you can learn the basics and get a feel for the clay. Depending on the weather etc we may keep this mug covered until the following week to finish with sculptural pieces etc.
Week Two - Wednesday 19th Feb 25
We will finish your mug and make a small vase.
Week Three - Wednesday 26th Feb 25

Week 4 - Glazing 12th March 25
This will be held 2 weeks after Week Three on March 12th. Learn about underglazes and brush on glazes. Glaze your pieces - this class will be between 3 hours
Clay used for these workshops is a speckled stoneware.
Price includes all materials and tools needed, firing all your items as well as glaze etc
Your finished items will be available approximately 2 weeks after the glazing workshop.
This is a small class with a maximum of 5 people.
Available for ages 15 plus
For this course if you miss a week there will be no make up days available
Please wear clothes you don't mind getting grubby, or bring an apron. It is advisable to have reasonably short nails when working with clay. If you do have nails we can work around it but you might find that you need to clean up the clay a bit more (even small nails will leave marks as we make the items).
Refreshment will be provided but feel free to BYO if you would like a wee dabble during the class.
Please also be aware that due to the nature of pottery and firing x 2 means that sometimes things don't work out as they should. I dry mugs super slowly but sometimes cracks etc still form. It happens, it still happens to me and any potter you talk too will say the same. I will do my utmost best and handle all your mugs with care but please be aware due to the nature of the craft there may be a breakage. I really hope not, but sometimes it just happens.
