Date:   Sunday 22nd March 2026
Time:  1pm - approx 4pm (may finish earlier, just depends on your design).

In this workshop you will create your very own platter.  There will also be some extra clay available for a pinch bowl and spoon set if required.  This workshop is a step by step class and I will make one at the same time to demo how things are done.   No one will be left behind.
 
This workshop will run for approx 3 hours (max).   You will have access to platter forms to mold your clay over (blue and not fired platters are made over a form) or go for the organic look and make your own shape (the green is free form).   

You will be able to roll in botancials, use stamps etc as well.   You will be able to add some colour to your botanicals, stamps using a water colour method.  If you use underglaze on the day your platter etc will be clear glazed otherwise there will be a small selection of glazes to pick that I will glaze for  you once bisque fired.

Clay used is my speckle clay that I use for almost everything.

Price includes all materials and tools needed to make your platter set, sanding and glazing after the bisque fire, 2 x firings in the kiln (bisque and glaze) as well as me glazing it for you.

Your platter will be ready in approx 4 - 6 weeks (mugs need to dry slowly) for pick up.   Please note, I will not be able to ship these so you will need to be able to pick up. 

This is a small class with a maximum of 6 people.   Please be aware, I need a minimum of 4 people booked for this class to go ahead.   If the minimum number is not reached you will be given a full refund.

Available for ages 12 plus

Please wear clothes you don't mind getting grubby, or bring an apron.   It is advisable to have reasonably short nails when working with clay.  If you do have nails we can work around it but you might find that  you need to clean up the clay a bit more (even small nails will leave marks as we make the items).

Refreshment will be provided but feel free to BYO if you would like a wee dabble during the class.

**Note** if you need to cancel your booking please give me as much notice as you can.  7 days is preferred, minimum 72 hours.  I will need to advertise your spot and try and fill it.

Please also be aware that due to the nature of pottery and firing x 2 means that sometimes things don't work out as they should.  I dry mugs super slowly but sometimes cracks etc still form.   It happens, it still happens to me and any potter you talk too will say the same.   I will do my utmost best and handle all your mugs with care but please be aware due to the nature of the craft there may be a breakage.   I really hope not, but sometimes it just happens.
